Nail jargon to keep you “in the know”!
The white part of your nail extending past your fingertips is called “free edge”. The lunula (Lu-noo-Lah), or half-moon, is located at the base of the nail. The light color at the lunula is caused by the reflection of light where the matrix and connective tissue of the nail bed join.

Hot Tips…

Wondering about nail growth rate?
To completely replace a fingernail takes approximately 5-6 months; toenails-about 12-18 months.

How often should you have a manicure?
Every 7 to 10 days, manicures are recommended for beautiful, healthy well-groomed natural nails.

What do healthy natural nails look like?
They are firm, flexible and appear slightly pink in color.

Is there a proper technique for filing nails?
Yes, use a fine to medium grit Resin coated emery board (240 grit or higher). File nails from corner towards the center of the nail. Always file in one direction and never back and forth or when nails are wet as they can split, fray or peel up.

What is the best shape for your natural nails?
File your nail in the shape that mirrors the base of your nail bed.

What is polish separation?
It’s not uncommon for high quality nail polish lacquers to separate. To eliminate separation, simply warm the bottle by rolling it between your palms until the formula is significantly remixed. If the polish is thickening, try using a few drops of nail polish thinner. Again, make sure you roll the bottle between your palms for proper remixing.  Note: Do Not Use Polish Remover – Use Nail Polish Thinner Only!

How long will the French Tip Primer Stick last?
It will typically last about 6 months depending upon individual usage.

How long will the French Tip Moisture Stick last?
It will typically last about 3 ½ months at 2 times per week = 28 applications.

Tips on Polishing
Even though nails may appear clean and dry, if you were to look at them under a microscope, you would see all kinds of residue (soap, lotion, polish remover, etc.). For best results, wash in warm soapy water and rinse with warm to cool water, pat dry and wait a few minutes before polishing.
